5:09 pm I took the vow

Interested in making the globe a more peaceful place?

There is a new global movement and website, called “I Take the Vow”, which emerged from an Alliance for a New Humanity conference in Barcelona with Deepak Chopra. On the site, you can make the personal vow (“I Take The Vow of non-violence in my thoughts, my speech and my actions”) and enroll others in the pledge as well. See: http://itakethevow.com/home

4:00 pm Create Your Day Intentionally

This was taken from the book, “Dream Dictionary for Dummies”:

Create Your Day Intentionally:

* What impact do I want to have on other people, and on the world, today?

* What kind of experience and attitude do I want to have today?

* What do I want to give and receive today?

7:55 pm On Asking and Abundance

I have been revisiting The Prayer of Jabez Devotional by Bruce Wilkinson… here are a couple of quotes/reminders from my reading today:

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”–Mathew 7:7-8

Asking is the beginning of receiving. Make sure you don’t go to the ocean with a teaspoon. At least take a bucket so the kids won’t laugh at you.”–Jim Rohn

1:33 am Thomas Merton quote from “Dialogues with Silence”

Minds which are separated pretend to blend in one another’s language. The marriage of souls in concepts is mostly an illusion. Thoughts which travel outward bring back reports from You from outward things, but a dialogue with You, uttered through the world, always ends by being a dialogue with my own reflection in the stream of time. With You there is no dialogue, unless You choose a mountain, circle it with cloud and print Your words in fire upon the mind of Moses. What was delivered to Moses on tablets of stone, as the fruit of lightning and thunder, is now more thoroughly born in our souls as quitely as the breath of our own being.

8:06 pm A quote from Deepak Chopra’s “The Third Jesus”

“In whatever way you can today, go with the flow. Do not resist or oppose. Do not control. Proceed through your day without expectations. The world seems to be a huge entity and you are a very small one. But in truth the world is flowing from you. You are its source. To realize that truth, you must start to live as if it is true.”

3:50 pm Quotes from “Happier than God” by Neale Donald Walsch

I just finished reading “Happier Than God” and Neale’s writing is still as easy and fun to read as always. One of the things that I really enjoyed about this book was the section that talked about what God really is and his views parallel some of my own. Here is a quote:

“Could God really be, after all is said and done, a process? And could that process be the experience called Life?

Life, I have come to understand, is God. It is God being God, and becoming what God is next going to Be. This is a complex and extraordinary system that includes a Process that produces an Expression called life.”

Other notable perspectives include his views on creation:

“The act of “creation” is simply the act of tuning into the vibration of that which already exists in the All of Everything, which attunement draws it to you. You are not really “creating” anything, but merely noticing that it has already been created, and magnetized it–or attracting it.

The process of attraction is simply a matter of adjusting your own energy to match the energy of that which you wish to experience. Again, you are not creating anything, you are merely experiencing the already created. You do this by pulling it to you, by “calling it forth” from the Field of Infinite Possibilities, through the “identicalizing” of your energies.

Creation is resonance.”

And lastly, I’ve included a quote about his views on “thinking”:

“When you get an “idea” in your head about something, or visualize something (as inventors often do), all you are doing, in actuality, is remembering it as it already exists. If it did not already exist, you could not think of it.

“Thinking” is actually the act of retrieving. It is a process of reaching into the Eternal Collective Consciousness and retrieving data. It is the spontaneous resonation of a local Individuation of Divinity with an aspect of universal Divinity. It is a matching of a Part of Everything with the All of Everything.”

4:25 am Celebrate You! Celebrate Spirit!

When I say “Celebrate You” what do you think of? What are all the fantastic ways that you can celebrate you? What will you do this year? This month? This week? Today?

When I say “Celebrate Spirit” what do you think of? No, I don’t mean anything woo-woo, but there is a bigger, synchronistic picture to our world and universe. How have you celebrated it lately? How do you celebrate it?

And do you think of them in connection with each other? If we think about it, they are really inseparable aren’t they? How can you celebrate you without automatically celebrating spirit? And vice versa?

If you are one of the growing number of people on this planet who are hungry for deeper meaningand spiritual context (not necessarily religion per se), then the merging of these two concepts will be very appealing!

In my next book, “This Reality is Only An Option”, I talk about the three realities or realms in our lives, as we know them, and about how to more fully integrate them. By doing so, it helps us to ensure that we honor and celebrate the uniqueness and liberation of self, the dynamism of our world, and the unity of spirit—within every capacity of our lives, as opposed to only concentrating on certain areas. We are then able to appreciate our divine nature and connection, and take accountability for our part in manifesting reality. With conscious communion, we co-create a new world before us by being the peace, love, abundance, and joy that we seek. And therefore, celebrating our self and spirit becomes a natural part of our lives.

Three of the ways that I celebrate self and spirit, in my daily life, are: to be mentally stimulated by positive inspiration, to honour the feelings of my intuition (my soul’s urging), and to take creative initiative and action. Inspiration—Intuition—Initiative… they all are a part of how I celebrate me, life (including relationships), and spirit… and provide me with so many more reasons to celebrate!

If you would like to share some of the ways you celebrate self and spirit, send them to me at brenda@brendablackburn.com and they might be posted in an upcoming e-newsletter issue!
